Description
The beauty of North Carolina. From the unique Outer Banks to the memorable Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina has it all - beautiful beaches and the highest mountains on the East Coast of the United States. NC has something for all to enjoy all seasons of the year - winter, spring, summer, and fall.
The Uwharrie river near Troy, North Carolina reaches flood level. This picture was taken atop the small, wooden, single lane bridge on Low Water Bridge Road which spans the river and is located within the Uwharrie National Forest.. The road and bridge is aptly names because every time there is a heavy rain and the level of the Uwharrie River rises, the bridge is flooded.
Even on a good day the bridge surface is probably only a foot or two above the surface of the water. When this picture was taken, a heavy thunderstorm was passing through the area and the bridge was just starting to flood. Covered with water it was dangerous but not yet deep enough to sweep a person away. The picture was taken by walking into the middle of the flooded bridge. The original fine art photograph is a black & white infrared monochrome picture. Color and toning was added to the painting version. 2703-05. #photography #painting #homedecor #fineart
