You can watch kitesurfers up and down the Outer Banks on both the sound and ocean sides. Periodically you will see tournaments that start on the ocean north in Kitty Hawk or Nags Head, with the kitesurfers traversing south 60 or 70 miles to the southern Outer Banks.
