This tree was the most well-known landmark in what is also called Battleground Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was the oldest and one of the largest, but unfortunately, it became diseased and had to be cut down. This beautiful tree no longer exists. Seen in this picture showing its beautiful fall colors, it is missed by many.
