Description
An image of sands being blown by tropical force winds just before the sunrise on Frisco Beach Outer Banks North Carolina; available in traditional fine art photography and original art print (painted) styles; 2360; this is the original art print (painted) version
This photograph was taken on Frisco Beach before sunrise on a stormy day. In this shot, my back was to the wind and the weather was not too punishing. But during the same shoot, I also took pictures of the Frisco pier with the sunrise in the background. While shooting the pier, the wind was blowing at me. The cold was almost unbearable, and my face was sandblasted by the blowing sand. I could hardly open my eyes to see what I was doing. All in all, though, images like this make the ordeal worth the effort.
The time exposure used to capture this image clearly shows the ripping streams of sand driving by the roaring winds. The painted version of this print was digitally painted to create a surreal, painting style.
