Every year during the summer these beautiful purple flowers bloom in the Blue Ridge Mountains. They are Liatris or Morning Star. Along the 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway there is only one place I know of that has these flowers. My guess is that they were seeded there many years ago and the display continues every year. You can see a random flower or two perhaps 1/2 mile on the parkway in either direction, but any farther than that they disappear There are many pictures and painting of Liatris in these galleries because I make it a point to visit the area each year. The art is both at night and all times of the day. An original fine art photo was used to create this unique painting. 4333. #brpart #blueridgeart #carmichaelart
