This original fine art photograph by Dan Carmichael was taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina in the Doughton Park area. The sun, yet to rise, is below the horizon and illuminates the clouds with brilliant orange light. It was a foggy morning and heavy fog covered sections of the parkway. In this photo patches of fog can be seen in the canyon between mountain ridges in the distance. I liked this scene because the lighting shows the beauty of the split rail fence that can be seen in various areas along the parkway.
