Description
A group of Sandhill cranes stand amidst a dry grassy field, with two of the birds seemingly engaged in a vocal interaction, their throats extended and beaks pointing skyward. Their red-capped heads and elegant gray plumage contrast with the muted tones of the surrounding vegetation. This photo was taken in West Richland, Washington during their spring migration.
