This picture was taken just after sunrise. The sun has just risen above the horizon and is illuminating the ground fog buried in the valleys of the distant mountains and is seen just kissing the mountain ridge tops. Brilliant fall colors can be seen in the foreground and spotting the sides of the distant mountains as a bank of fog begins to push in from the left.
