Beautiful purple flowers of the Princess or Empress tree from China.
The story:
I ran across these flowers while on an excursion. I had never seen them before and did not know what they were. I researched and later found they are the blossoms of the Princess or Empress tree from China.
The flowers were soft and beautiful, but the most interesting part was their fragrance. It was not the usual "perfumey" smell one would expect from nature. Rather, the best way I can describe it as being "candy like." They smelled like an item in a candy store, like a cross between bubble gum and cotton candy. The fragrance was wonderful.
